Deal close: Reliable source confirms Bayern and Real Madrid target is close to completing deal with Arsenal
Transfers November 18, 2016According to a report from L’Equipe, Arsenal and France international defender Laurent Koscielny is on the verge signing a new deal with Arsenal.
The 31-year-old defender signed his last contract with Arsenal in the summer of 2014, and signing this new deal should see him remain at the Emirates Stadium till 2020, making him one of Arsenals longest serving ever players.
Koscielny has been on the top form so far this season alongside his new centre back partner Shkodran Mustafi, they’ve helped us to within touching distance of the top of the league. He’s played in 9 games, and scored twice already in the Premier League, including our last minute winner at Burnley.
In early July, reports from Soccernews confirmed Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are were both sniffing around, showing an interest in signing Koscielny but both parties failed to push ahead for a deal.
Arsenal will be visit Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow lunchtime and we will be without Santi Cazorla and Hector Bellerin, with a late fitness test for Alexis Sanchez, but I personally think we have enough cover to win the game despite all of our injuries.
