Alex Iwobi hits the back of the net twice for Nigeria – fans will like this
Premier League October 7, 2016Arsenal’s highly-rated attacker Alex Iwobi’s good form continues as he scores twice for his international side, Nigeria.
Since the opening day of the Premier League season against Liverpool, Iwobi has been in his best form and has been one of Arsenal’s best players this season.
He’s also provided the second highest number of assists in the League just behind Manchester City’s now-injured attacker Kevin de Bruyne.
The 20-year-old was happy with his first goal for Nigeria in their 3-0 victory over Plateau United, a side which plays in the Nigerian professional football league.
Iwobi came off the bench in the clash against Plateau United and he grabbed two goals after Gent’s Anderson Esiti had opened the scoring for the Super Eagles.
Iwobi took to Twitter to say:
“Good game against Plateau United FC. Great team performance and nice to get 45 minutes for my country and also to score two goals #SuperEagles #Nigeria…”
It was a good week for Iwobi as he was also nominated for the Golden boy award, where he will be facing stiff competition from the likes of Marcus Rashford, Renato Sanches to win the award.
