Deal close: Arsenal target set to complete move in 24 hours
The list of potential striker targets is about to get one name shorter as it’s looking increasingly likely Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain will sign for Juventus in the next few days.
There’s news this morning from talkSPORT who claim Higuain has failed to report to training, fuelling the rumours that he’s all set to be unveiled by Juventus, meaning Arsene Wenger, if he was truly interested, has missed another target.
Higuain has been linked to a move to Arsenal many times over the last few years, but as the days go on, it looks increasingly like Theo Walcott will be the man to lead the line until Olivier Giroud is back from his Euro 16 recovery/hangover.
It seems crazy to be spending such huge money on a player who is almost 30, but could Higuain have been the missing piece of the puzzle or does Arsene Wenger still have a Plan B to bolster our attacking options?
I personally feel like things are in a mess already, with the news Mertesacker, Gabriel and Laurent Koscielny are all out injured ahead of the season, our first games include Liverpool and Champions Leicester, and with the exception of Granit Xhaka, we have no marquee signings and are now short in defence as well as up front – over to you AW, tick tock!
