Not Higuain – Wenger ready to finally seal £41.8m superstar signing for Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to submit an improved bid for Alexandre Lacazette worth £41.8m after the Gunners £33.4m offer was rejected by Lyon, according to reports in France this morning.

Wenger has been heavily linked to a deal for a striker this summer and has been forced to look at other options after Jamie Vardy chose to remain at the King Power Stadium ahead of next season.

In recent weeks, several big names have been linked with a move to the Emirates but Lacazette and Higuain have emerged as Wenger’s main targets this summer if the media is to be believed.

However, it seems Napoli are demanding silly money for Higuain and that Wenger is moving on to a deal for Lacazette as the reports in France claim that the Gunners are preparing an improved offer for the striker.

The reports from outlet Le Progres claim that the Gunners initial bid of £33.4m (€40m) was rejected by the French club president Jean-Michel Aulas, Arsenal French boss is now ready to increase his bid to £41.8m (€50m) for the Argentine international.

Despite a slow start last season, the French international notched up 23 goals in 44 appearances last year and I think his better-quality finishing would make him the perfect foil for Ozil’s vision in the final third.

Let wait and what later comes out of this report but the most import thing is Wenger signing a world class hitman this summer. Please.
