Key striker fit for Arsenal game after injury ‘miracle’
Injuries, Match Preview November 16, 2016It comes as no surprise that Wayne Rooney will be fit to face Arsenal this Saturday after rumours of his ‘injury’ turned out to be a huge hangover. Rooney was pictured gatecrashing a wedding and partying very hard indeed, and was subsequently sent home from the England camp, missing the friendly against Spain on Tuesday night.
However, today, it seems as though his injury (hangover) has miraculously cleared up and he will be fit to face Arsenal at Old Trafford this Saturday lunchtime. Sky Sports have tweeted this evening that Rooney is expected to be fit and make the game (see tweet below).
The announcement will be good news for Jose Mourinho who was said to be furious with Rooney, who has since apologised for his actions. Mourinho is already under pressure and without several key first team players, with many more on the doubtful list including Fellaini, Valencia and Shaw, along with definite absentees Chris Smalling and Eric Bailey. Ibrahimovic is also suspended for the game.
Arsenal are also without several key players including Santi Cazorla who is struggling to regain his fitness, Bellerin and Alexis Sanchez is said to be winging his way home from South America and raring to play in the game.
