According to the report from The Express, Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s agent Vincenzo Morabito confirmed that Arsenal tabled a mouth-watering offer for the highly-rated African striker during the transfer window in the summer.
Arsenal were linked with several big names, and secured the signature of Lucas Perez late on in the window, the Spaniard currently injured has played well when called upon. Alexis Sanchez is our main striker, which seems to be working, and Arsene Wenger shows no signs of changing things around, even with the return of Olivier Giroud. Sanchez has netted 6 league goals in just 10 appearances and seems to first choice for Le Boss.
The co-founder of agency firm FIMO Morabito, claims that we tried to sign the Gabon international but the bid was rejected by Dortmund. When speaking in an invite with Radio CRC as quoted by The Daily Express, Morabito said: “Sometime ago, I called Zork, Dortmund’s director of football, to talk about Aubameyang [on behalf of Napoli], but the ‘no’ was absolutely categorical.
“I know that this summer, Arsenal offered €90m (£80m) for Aubameyang, but Borussia didn’t want to hear anything about it…”
Currently, Arsenal are fourth in the Premier League table with our next game, away at Manchester United so let’s hope Sanchez can carry on his scoring form, and returns from international duty injury free, this currently isn’t looking very likely!
