Deal close: Real Madrid hero set to sign deal with Arsenal – this will delight fans
Transfers November 7, 2016The Daily Mirror are reporting that we are in an ‘advanced stage’ on agreeing a new contract with Mesut Ozil, in a deal which will see him remain at The Emirates if the reports of a five year deal are true.
The highly-rated German international was named Arsenal’s best player for the season last season after he managed to provide 19 assists and he continues to impress with a string of goals to add to his assists so far this term.
It’s thought that Arsene Wenger has been trying to tie Ozil down to the new deal, and it looks like he’s close to getting his man, according to this report in The Daily Mirror.
They claim that the former Real Madrid midfielder is ready to agree a new deal at Arsenal that will see his earnings increase to £160,000-a-week, totaling a staggering £41.6million ($52million) over the next five years.
Ozil has already contributed to Arsenal’s brilliant performance this season, and has played in 14 matches and scored 7 brilliant goals, goals so far this season. The news outlet are reporting his German team mate Shkodran Mustafi has convinced Ozil to extend his contract with Arsenal and remain at the Emirates Stadium.
