Bad news for Man United – 38-goal striker won’t play against Arsenal
Match Preview November 7, 2016Following Manchester United’s clash against Swansea yesterday that ended a 3-1 win for the Red Devils, their big name summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic picked up his fifth yellow card and as a result will be ruled out of the Premier League game against Arsenal in two weeks’ time.
Ibrahimovic netted two goals in the 3-1 win against Swansea which saw his number of goals this season increase to 6-goals in 11 matches so far this season. The Swedish strikers’ performance in his last season with PSG was brilliant as he helped the Ligue 1 giants win the title by netting 38-goals in just 31 league appearances.
The win over The Swans was the Red Devils first win since September and the three points now see them move up to sixth in the league table and just six points away from the top four.
However, the bad news for United saw Ibra pick his fifth yellow card since the opening match of the season and he will be banned for the Arsenal game after the international break.
The 35-year-old ace has been a regular starter for former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho since he arrived at Old Trafford and now he will have to look at starting Anthony Martial or Marcus Rashford up front for the visit of Arsenal.
I don’t personally think United will really miss Zlatan too much as they have Rashford who has matured enough to replace him and the youngsters performances so far this season have been impressive and amazingly he still remains the Red Devil’s highest goal scorer in the League so far this season.
Rashford also scored twice last season against The Gunners, but will have a tough job against the solid centre back partnership of Mustafi and Koscielny in the Arsenal defence assuming they both come out of the international break unscathed.
