Arsenal fans on Twitter react to Ospina’s brilliant performance last night against PSG

Following last night’s Champions league opening match against PSG which ended a 1-1 draw in Paris, Arsenal fans were out in their droves on Twitter for an ‘Ospina love-in‘ after his amazing performance in goal.

PSG’s world-class (for 45 seconds at least) hitman netted an early goal last night, Cavani making it 1-0 from the kick off. Both team played well, but Arsenal seemed toothless again up front, with Sanchez starting in the centre forward position, with Wenger leaving new boy Perez and naughty boy Giroud on the bench.

Perez didn’t feature, he was about to come on when Sanchez equalized, Wenger opting to bring on Mohamed Elneny to sure things up instead of going for a win. Oli did come on later, only to be red carded for a silly handbags episode on the final whistle, but there is still work to do for Wenger as our goals don’t seem to be free flowing this season (Watford aside).

On the other hand, PSG looked good up front, apart from the finishing touch, they created a string of chances went begging, Cavani the main culprit.

However, David Ospina, who could be seen now as Wenger’s ‘cup keeper’, played an absolute blinder in goal in place of Cech, and made a string of world class saves in the game, pick of the bunch was when Cavani came through one on one with him. Cavani poked the ball round him, and Ospina stretched out an arm and tipped the ball away with one hand to prevent a late winner for PSG. What a guy!

Osinpa’s overall performance last night has been lauded far and wide, even Gary Lineker who literally hates Arsenal, said he played well. Here’s a few tweets from the Arsenal faitfhul:
