Arsenal fans on Twitter react to Mustafi’s performance against Southampton
Premier League September 13, 2016A wonderfully entertaining performance from Arsenal on Saturday against Southampton ended in a 2-1 win with Spanish midget midfielder Santi Cazorla’s stoppage time penalty winning all three points at the death.
Arsenal’s new signing, the BFG Mk II Shkodran Mustafi’s performance in match was promising and the Gunners fans have taken to social media to air their views on his performance.
With a stuttering start to the season, with a defeat to Liverpool and a draw with Leicester, the main man Wenger has turned things around with back to back wins, one on the road at Watford, and a win against the Saints at The Emirates this weekend.
We play PSG this evening in the Champions League, and we have a great chance to get off to a winning start in Paris, but it’s yet to be seen whether Wenger continues with his new centre back pairing of Mustafi and Koscielny.
Arsenal bought the German from Valencia after a long, drawn out transfer saga following the injuries to Gabriel and Per Mertesacker pre-season, and there’s not too many Arsenal fans unhappy with the addition of Mustafi, especially given his solid start this weekend.
Since the 24-year-old ace made his debut for Germany in 2014 he has managed to win 12 caps and his performances at the Euro 2016 tournament in France were very impressive, looks like, despite his £35m price tag, Arsene Wenger has got yet another bargain in Mustafi.
Here are some of the Arsenal fans tweets:
Mustafi was solid yesterday. We need a performance like that in Paris.

Happy with the 3 points – not a perfect performance but still a win. Impressed by Mustafi. Lucas needs time to settle #arsenal #afc @arsenal

Unconvincing performance but a hugely satisfying win that. Very impressed with Mustafi, Perez needs more game time though clearly. #UTA

Pérez, poor performance but understandable. Mustafi huge – looking forward to seeing more of Mustafi & Koscielny as a partnership. #afc

Typical Arsenal. Poor performance. V lucky to win. Bright spot was Mustafi looked solid. Perez needs time & we didn’t play to his strengths.
