How Arsenal Might Win The Next Premier League Season
Premier League September 9, 2016Arsenal has an impressive record in the Premier League. The club has won numerous major trophies from the FA Cup to the Community Shield. Although other teams may be more famous, everyone knows that they are in for a tough day in the field when they match up against The Gunners. The years under manager Arsene Wenger have been particularly successful, if a bit inconsistent. Bettors need to study Premier League enhanced odds around the club if they want to earn good money. After all, this is a major contender for the next season’s title.
Forward Momentum
We must remember that Arsenal almost won the League title in the 2015-2016 season. In the end, they were beaten to the top by first-time champion Leicester City. It was a fairytale ending for the latter. They will surely try to defend their title but other clubs will make this difficult. A lot of major changes happened in the off-season as everyone tried to reinforce their side. Arsenal is the biggest threat to the current champs after being so close last time. The team knows what it is capable of and is hungry to go a step further this time around.
A Steady Hand
They won’t go about it recklessly either. The team benefits from the steady hand of Arsene Wenger, the Frenchman who has transformed the club into a well-oiled machine. His tenure has been marked by incredible success. Since 1996, he has guided The Gunners to some fantastic runs including their magical 2003-04 season in which they did not lose a single match to get the Premier League trophy. No team has ever duplicated this feat and it is unlikely that it will be matched anytime soon. Other clubs have recruited superstar managers from around the world but Wenger has the advantage of experience.
New Blood
It has been a busy off-season for the club. They wasted no time in acquiring new talent to help fill the gaps in offence and defence. For instance, they recruited the Swiss Granit Xhaka to man the midfield. Japanese forward Takuma Asano also impressed the coaching staff and was signed to the team. They also got a defender in Rob Holding who came from Bolton. La Liga veterans Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi are also set to become parts of the gunners. It’s a solid batch of additions to an already formidable team. How they blend in and adapt to the system will be closely watched.
Current Status
The pre-season matches have been excellent. Arsenal is looking like a team that’s ready to face the challenges of the next season. The team went on several trips abroad for friendly matches. A few injuries were confirmed but these didn’t seem to affect their form. They won against both the MLS All-Stars and Chivas Guadalajara in the US. They then went on a Scandinavian trip where they won convincingly against Norwegian club Viking FK. On home soil, they beat Manchester City. The start of their season has been shaky but there is plenty of time to regroup.
