Deal close: Arsenal to complete transfer for 17 goal hitman in the next 24 hours – report

After missing out on Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, manager Arsene Wenger has been linked with virtually every striker across Europe, but so far has failed to land any of these ‘reported’ targets.

Danny Welbeck picked up a knee injury and is out until Christmas, meaning a replacement is high priority for an increasingly under pressure Arsenal manager.

France and Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette was thought to be Wenger’s prime target but the chance of him joining now look slim.

However, there’s finally some light at the end of Le Boss’s striker shaped tunnel, in the guise of Spanish international striker Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna, and a report in The Daily Star claim a deal will be completed tomorrow (Friday).

The news outlet further reports the two clubs held talks yesterday and they agreed on a deal of around £17m, and it’s thought the player will join Arsenal on a 3 or 4 year deal.

Premier League rivals Everton also submitted a bid for the 27-year-old Spaniard and several La Liga clubs were also said to be interested in his signature, but it looks like Arsenal are his chosen destination, with just personal terms to be agreed, some reports claim that a medical will take place tomorrow.

It’s also been mentioned Mustafi is also done, and will also join after Valencia accepted our improved offer for the player, more on that tomorrow reader(s).

The highly-rated ace joined Deportivo last summer having spent the previous season on loan with PAOK  in Greece. He had a great season, scoring 17 goals in 37 games for a struggling Deportivo, so let’s hope he can continue this form, and get on the end of a few of Mesut Ozil’s god-like assists and fire us to glory.
