Sky Sports journalist gives huge update on Mustafi to Arsenal – this will delight fans

The saga of Mustafi to Arsenal just won’t go away and with the late news tonight that Lucas Perez could be joining any time, it seems as though Arsene Wenger is going to be very busy ahead of the end of the transfer window.

Most fans recognise the deal for Granit Xhaka was a great, early move to get in a player who was urgently needed, and it now looks like Wenger is going to bite the bullet and add the final pieces of the puzzle that will complete the squad ahead of the rest of the season.

Despite playing just twice in the league, we’re already 5 points off of the pace, and with injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel, Laurent Koscielny remains our only senior centre back so a move for Mustafi seems to be the way to go.

A Sky Sports journalist in Germany has said that the move is likely to happen, claiming on his Twitter account that the 24-year-old defender and his agent met with Valencia officials yesterday. He was told he can leave if they receive an adequate offer, also suggesting £26m should be enough to force Valencia’s hand.

He Tweeted:

At least this move should spell the end of these ludicrous rumours of Jonny Evans and Phil Jones coming to The Emirates, and finally, if Mustafi happens, along with Lucas Perez, it looks like a fairly ok window for us, but at least we have the players we need.

Our squad will, to be fair, be looking absolutely unreal when Gabriel and Danny Welbeck return, lets hope we can get back to winning ways this weekend at Watford.

Come on Arsenal, let’s get these done, perhaps there’s still time for a madness?*

*no.
