16-goal hitman’s agent jets into London to hold talks with Arsenal, after wife confirms ace could leave his club this summer

With our opening fixture ending in a 4-3 defeat against Liverpool yesterday, yet more pressure has been piled onto the Arsenal manager to sign some new players before the transfer window closes in just two weeks time.

A report from Italian news outlet ll Messaggero via the DailyStar claims Mauro Icardi’s agent and wife, Wanda Nara, will jet in to England to hold talks with Arsenal over a possible move to the Emirates.

However, they also claim Chelsea are interested in a cash and player deal, using Diego Costa as a makeweight for the Argentine international striker.

Icardi’s wife has already admitted that her husband may be leaving the San Siro Stadium this summer, in July, she said on her Twitter account: “#calciomercato.” – Italian for transfer market.

Personally, I think Arsenal are in pole position to sign Icardi after a summer of rumours. Chelsea already have an established striker Michy Batshauyi so Arsenal’s need is far greater, especially after the Liverpool debacle this weekend.

Since the summer transfer window opened, Arsenal have been linked with many forward players, with Leicester and England striker Jamie Vardy shunning a move to sign him by Arsene Wenger, and remaining at the Champions.

Icardi, the 23-year-old ace joined Inter Milan from Sampdoria and he has established himself as a world-class striker at the San Siro and scored 16 goals in 29 appearances last season.

Tick tock lads!
