Deal close: 5-year-deal already agreed, Arsenal to complete transfer for player in 48 hours
Good morning all, following a summer of England disappointment (thanks to the Spurs players) it’s time to welcome back the Premier League, and we kick off on Sunday at 4pm against Liverpool.
As you know, we’re already without Per Mertesacker, who is out for 4 months, Gabriel 6 weeks, and Arsene Wenger confirmed this morning that Laurent Koscielny will not be ready for the game due to his European Championship exploits.
So, we’re resting a player for 6 weeks, so he can come back to start playing three games a week? Anyway, that’s none of my business.
Anyways, it looks like Shkodran Mustafi will be the player to fill the gap in defence, and The Daily Mail report that the deal will be completed in the next 48 hours. They claim the player has signed a five year contract worth around £75,000 a week.
The reckon the fee will be around £30m, though there are still some tweets this morning saying Arsenal and Valencia are still some way off in their valuation.
I have watched Mustafi play many times, and he definitely has the potential to be as good as Sergio Ramos once he gets going under Arsene Wenger’s watchful eye.
More later as we get it…
