Arsenal close on 5th signing, Wenger makes 30 goals in 32 game striker top target – report
As the season fast approaches, Granit Xhaka remains our only senior signing alongside that of Rob Holding, Takumo Asano and Kelechi Nwakali. There are also stories today that the transfer of centre back Mustafi is all but over the line ahead of the season opener this weekend.
Now Arsene Wenger has filled the huge central defensive gap with a quality £30m+ defender, it’s thought he will turn all of his attention to sorting out the final piece of the puzzle, and bring in a forward player before the window shuts.
Wenger’s early efforts to lure Jamie Vardy to The Emirates Stadium failed after the England international striker snubbed a move and extended his contract with the Champions back in June.
Despite missing out on Vardy, Wenger is carrying on with the search and a report from TalkSport claims that Poland and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has emerged as top of Wenger’s hitlist.
Lewandowski has been linked with a move to The Emirates before when he was at Dortmund but he joined Bayern Munich instead.
We’re not too sure how much truth there is in this one, but what a signing he’d be, could this be the ‘madness’ the Arsenal fans want so badly?
There are few players better than the Polish international who helped the Bundesliga Champions cruise to the league title, with 30 goals in just 32 games for Bayern last season.
