Sky Sports journalist confirms Arsenal in talks over transfer fee for 21 goal goal-machine

Another day, another Sky journalist saying we’re about to sign someone. It’s almost like they want you to go onto SkyBet and bet on it or something… nah, they wouldn’t do that, would they?

Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol claims that we are in talks with Lyon over a transfer fee for France international striker Alexandre Lacazette.

Lacazette is one of the most prolific strikers in the French league, and has scored 76 times for Lyon, and scored 21 goals last season. Lyon confirmed that they’d already rebuffed bids from both Arsenal and West Ham in July, but now it seems they reckon Arsenal have opened talks with the Ligue 1 giant over a possible summer move to The Emirates.

The journalist also reported yesterday on his Twitter account that Arsenal are currently in talks with the 25-year-old over a potential transfer fee despite it also being announced Lacazette has picked up a hip injury.

Lacazette’s current deal with Lyon is valued at around £40million and he’s contracted until 2019, and with the news of his injury a deal seems unlikely, but if we can sign a player with a broken back then anything can happen in the remainder of the transfer window…
