Arsenal to complete the signing of 23-goal hitman this week – this will delight fans
It’s widely known now that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger desperately wants to bring in a striker before the end of this summer transfer window.
After missing out on Jamie Vardy in June, the Gunners’ French manager is thought to have gone after Real Madrid’s Spanish international Alvaro Morata but it seems as though the player is happy to now stay with the Los Blancos outfit, so it looks like any move to The Emirates is now off.
Also, Argentinian striker Gonzalo Higuain has signed for Juventus this week for a phenomenal fee, meaning Wenger has once again been out-priced for another one of his rumoured targets.
So, as Wenger turns his attention elsewhere, a report from The Sun claims that we are looking to secure the signature or young Toulouse striker Wissam Ben Yedder.
The report from The Sun via French outlet Canal+ claims that we are to go head to head with Sevilla to try and strike a deal for around £8m. It’s claimed that the former French U21 international is to make his final decision on whether to move to North London, or to join Sevilla by the end of this week.
The 25 -year-old ace had a brilliant season in Ligue 1 last season, and scored 23 goals for relegation-threatened Toulouse. His overall stats read pretty impressively, the striker notching up 80 goals in less than 200 appearances.
Over the past four seasons, only Ibrahimovic and Lacazette have better scoring records than the French youngster in Ligue 1, so he could be the answer to Arsene Wenger’s problems, and he wouldn’t break the bank, something sure to please Wenger, Ivan Gazidis and especially that tightwad Stan K.
