Forget Higuain – New Arsenal target arrives in London to hold talks – fans will love him!

Sky Italia via Goal has brought us another report that claims Arsenal’s Argentinian target Mauro Icardi is set to jet into London with his agent/wife to hold talks with the north London club with a view to securing a move to the Emirates this summer.

The report from Goal claims that the Argentine international has a release clause worth €94 million, but if Inter Milan receive an offer in the region of €50-€70m they may be willing to let him.

Arsenal have been on the verge of signing Gonzalo Higuain for the past few days, but their effort in luring him this summer as failed so far as it appear Napoli are not willing to sell lower than their huge asking price.

The Serie A club are demanding for as much as £79m for the Argentine international, and Arsenal have now turn their attention to an alternative solution up front.

Icardi, 23, was recently linked with a big-money move to West Ham but, as the English club did not qualify for the Champions League, Arsenal are in pole position to land the workaholic striker.

Despite the fact that the Argentine international struggled with his form at the beginning of last season, he hit the back of the net 16 times in 34 games in all competitions for Inter and would be a welcome addition to Arsene Wenger’s strikeforce if the move comes off!
