Arsenal fans on Twitter react to Alexis Sanchez injury

We are just a few weeks away from the opening game of the season but Arsenal are already facing an injury crisis, with Chuba Akpom potentially the man to lead the Gunners up font in the opening game against Liverpool.

Arsenal’s plan of signing a striker this summer is yet to bear fruit, and the Gunners’ Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez is finding it hard to regain his fitness after his brutal injury sustained at the Copa America last month.

Arsenal are monitoring the situation of their star players’ recovery but fear the 27-year-old ace could miss the start of the season, according to the ever reliable Daily Mail. Arsene Wenger is desperately searching for a striker which will delight the Arsenal faithful, however Arsenal could be without a host of players for the opening game.

Danny Welbeck is still out for a few months due to a serious knee injury and team mates Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud will not return to the Emirates until the 8th of August at the earliest. They are both to be given a break due to the European Championships, and it seems they won’t be fully back to action until the 14th of August.

TeamTalk claim that the Gunners will have to use Akpom and Theo Walcott as the front line first choices against Liverpool, and Yaya Sanogo is yet to return to action, and will more than likely be sent back out on loan.

Personally, I think Joel Campbell will be another good option but the 24-year-old ace has failed to convince Wenger in five years as an Arsenal player and it’s rumoured that he could leave this summer.

Gunners fans have gone to the social media – Twitter – to show their view on Sanchez’ latest injury:
