Usmanov Believes That Wenger Should Stay With Arsenal…

People choose sport for various reasons. However, the most important one is emotions that you get when watching a sport event. The adrenaline rush fills you with excitement as you sit at the edge of your seat in the tensest moments of the game.

Those who cannot live without that adrenaline are often keen not only on sport, but also on gambling. It can give you even more agitation as in sport you are just a spectator, while in gambling you are the player who can win real money. Nevertheless, sport is not just the game itself, but also a thoughtful management. Recently, Mirror and a number of other newspapers have released the articles saying that Arsene Wenger should quit his position as the Arsenal manager.

Being in charge of the team since 1996, Wenger has his contract expired at the end of the year. Now it seems that he will not stay the Gunners manager after that. Currently, after the knockout of all three cup competitions, the club is lagging behind their north London rivals Tottenham and Leicester city who made a hit by their unexpected success in this season.

Despite the poor results and lack of support from fans, Wenger has at least one person who does not want him to leave. Alisher Usmanov, Arsenal’s billionaire shareholder, has recently increased his stake to 30 percent. Even though it is not enough for taking decisions, Usmanov’s position plays an important role for the outcome of this situation.

The Uzbek-born shareholder strongly believes that although the club has been failing for far too long, it is not the reason for sparing Wenger. In his interview to a Russian TV channel Rossiya24 Usmanov claimed that The Gunners’ results are stable as they always rank among the leaders of the English Premiere League. For him it is a large sports business project which satisfies him completely.

Usmanov explained that in any sport there are ups and downs. Because of the fact that the club cannot become EPL champion for many years now, there is a discontent with the Gunner’s legendary manager. Nonetheless, he is sure that Arsene Wenger is a major symbol and main asset of Arsenal and thus he must stay with the club.

The main argument that Usmanov gives is that the football club should maintain the principles established by those who created its victories and that is why the Gunners need Wenger. He reckons that Arsenal must give Wenger an opportunity to plan the succession process – and that is what will lead them to the victory.

Unfortunately, not everyone is as enthusiastic as Usmanov is. Fans of the club are demanding that the current manager should be replaced. Some of them have even displayed banners during the matches, calling for Wenger to leave his position. Talksport has asked the Gunners’ fans whom would they like to see a manager instead of Wenger. The top picks are Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid) and the combination of De Boer and Bergkamp combo (Ajax).

Overall, at this moment no one can say for sure whether Arsenal will have a new manager for the next season or not. The only thing that we can do now is to wait till the end of the Wenger’s contract and find out the final decision then.
