Stung by The Hornets.

As our season lurches from downright miserable to hilariously predictable, it was only right we crashed out of the FA Cup in humiliating fashion.

So we did.

You could argue it was a London derby, but you could also argue, we were at home and have the players to win these game. As it happened, we found ourselves 2-0 down, at home, chasing the game, not really waking up until it was too late.

With the games coming thick and fast, don’t miss the football news at bethut.co.uk

We had our usual chances to put the game to bed, goal disallowed, Oli put through, but sadly, this was another game which highlighted that you can’t afford to miss your chances.

Fair play to Watford, they came, did a job and their second goal was a thing of beauty, an absolute rocket in the top corner from Adlene Geudioura after some great hold up play by their amazing part time Magician, the Great Troydeeni.

AW made a triple substitution late on, which sparked us into some kind of life, DGW scoring what could have been the catalyst to earning a replay but only served as a consolation effort.

So, our first FA Cup defeat in 3 years odd, and we go to Barcelona tomorrow night to try and salvage some pride, already 2-0 from the first leg.

Only bright side I can muster right now is the fact, there are no more if/buts regarding fixtures, there are no more replays, pile ups or excuses.

If we are going to finish top four, above Spurs or even win the thing, we literally cannot afford to drop a single point. Seeing what Everton did to Chelsea on Saturday night that’s going to be a tall order given how we are playing right now as we look ahead to next weekend…
